Birds

Friday, April 1st, 2011

Hi All,

A recent study of the birds in this country has shown than there has been a good rise in the numbers. There have been two bad winters after each other which has affected birds are lead to a decrease in numbers however now things seem to be improving. Have you ever seen a long tailed tit, they are such lovely creatures and good news is that these are on the increase.

I joined the RSPB last year, its a lovely membership package with a monthly magazine, membership card which gives money for RSPB sites.

If you are interested in reading more about the survey and the results please have a look at the RSPB website, its worth a look.

Bye for now and happy bird watching!

Beano

Friday, March 18th, 2011

Hi All,

Do you remember the Beano magazine and in particular the character dennis the menace, does this bring back memories?!

Well guess what he is sixty years of age. He was created in 1951

He was known to be the most mischievous boy ever and I thought that was my older brother!

There was a fan club specifically set up and in the year 1988 the membership levels were over one million. All members were issued with a nice membership card as well as other bits and bobs.

I am lead to believe there is now a tv show which features him. I haven’t personally seen this but it can’t possible be the same / as good as the magazines.

Happy Birthday dennis the menace!

The economy

Friday, January 28th, 2011

HI All,

Its been greatly reported in the news that the UK economy has decreased by .5% when a growth percentage was expected.

Well I’m no economist but the VAT rise is / has affected people views on spending, if the government want people to spent why increase the VAT rate!

We have encountered a small growth in the number of enquiries for plastic membership cards, I’ve probably said this on a few occasions before and will most probably say again – membership cards are a positive way to ensure a member feels valued or even better a discount card offer 5% or more off products/services valid until xxx to try and encourage cash flow.

I wish you all the very best of success in these uncertain times, if you feel any of our products will help your business please get in touch.

Durable plastic cards

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

Hi All,

You have probably seen the clip on either you tube or BBC news now about the lady who was sooooo busy sending a text message from her mobile in a shopping centre that she did not realise an indoor pool / fountain display was in front of her….in case you have not seen this….you guessed it…she tripped over the small wall surrounding this and went head first in to the water!

Bet she is glad all her credit cards are plastic cards as other wise she would not have been able to purchase new DRY clothes from the surrounding shops!

If you haven’t see the clip have a look at BBC news, apparently over one million people have viewed it according to the BBC article however now looks nearer to 2 million!

Next time you are lookign to purchase business / membership cards just remember plastic ones are more durable, you never know what is round the corner!

Bye for now!

Plastic cards – and the spring time rush

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Spring is nearly here, the nights are getting lighter and daffodils starting to emerge & its time for spring cleaning.

I guess it would also be a good time of any customers with membership schemes to have a spring clean as well, a few tips would be to:

Have a look at existing membership cards to see if they need an update
you could run a member competition for them to design the new cards and offer a prize, this is a great way to make members feel included and help if you are struggling with design ideas
alternatively you could take a look at our card examples page www.cardexamples.co.uk for inspiration
you could consider implementing a tracking system to monitor member activity which could provide vital information to a club in terms of retention and member movement (barcodes or magnetic strips could help you with this)
depending on when your membership year runs it may be time to ask member if they are renewing, bear in mind that people are still struggling financially so you may want to consider incentives such as renew for 12 months and get one month free or a free gift.

If any readers of this have any further ideas for fellow organisations please feel free to add them to this blog.

Bye for now.

Plastic cards with optional extras

Friday, August 14th, 2009

We produce plastic cards that have various optional extras.

The picture below is taken from our website which illustrates the various options available.

We are going to update our website shortly to include information about each extra as we have found that customers are often confused on ‘how they work’ often we get ask how a signature strip works.

We hope to make these updates within the next few weeks.

Plastic cards, we offer a personalisation service

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

For our full colour plastic cards, we offer a bureau personalisation service.

This service enables customers to have plastic cards personalised with customers/members details as and when required.

So, for example, a golf club could order 1,000 plastic membership cards. We would hold the plastic cards in stock for them once they have been printed. Then maybe once a week, the customer will email an excel document to us which contains the details to be printed on the cards of the new members, for example:

- The members name

- The type of membership, full, junior etc.

- The members membership number

- The expiry date.

Once we have received the customers excel file, we will overprint the personalised details onto the cards and dispatch them within 3 working days.

This service is also useful if a member loses their card, their details can be submitted to us as normal when new cards are ordered.

Membership cards, people are looking for them

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

Recently the technical guys here noticed a lot of potential customers were coming to our website home page from Google using keywords such as membership cards or membership card printing but the ‘bounce rate’ was quite high.

This means that potential customers come to our website via the home page but they do not proceed any further to have a look around the website.

So today, our home page has been slightly revamped to be easier on the eye and more to the point about the types of plastic cards that we produce.

Only time will tell how successful this improvement will be.
