I have a meeting with my colleague in relation to promoting a new special offer of 250 full colour plastic cards for £95 plus delivery and vat, so far word of mouth has been a great advertiser for this offer but as always new business is wonderful to try and achieve.

I then have to sort out some new cards for our sample packs.

Last but not least I need to put together a quote for a University tender who would like an ongoing contract for the supply of full colour plastic cards.

Hi All, I read a funny article in the news today regarding a fire station in Preston, they had some wording painted on the ground outside the premises, it was meant to say keep clear but unfortunately was painted as keep klear!

Oh dear, someone will be in trouble.

We occasionally have cards where customer have spelt words incorrectly, whether down to a typing mistake or just incorrect spelling who knows. This seems to happen more on the full colour cards than the frosted or anything else, probably as customers generally have more information on the full colour cards. Quite often the customer asks us to change it for them but they don’t realise that they sent the artwork to us in an format we can not edit (not always the case).

Oh dear, one of our competitors is now asking for something called “proof free artwork”.

They want you to send your artwork to them to the correct specification so it can go straight to print – basically they don’t want the hassle / can’t be bothered to look at your artwork, check that all is ok and email a proof to you to approve!

We know the turnaround time for the cards from this particular company is very long and they promise to meet deadlines that they cannot achieve just to get your money. We never do this and are very proud of this fact! – true customers don’t like to hear that we sometimes cannot meet their deadlines but I’d rather be honest than lie to them.

Also, for our full colour plastic cards (apart from the special offer) an ACTUAL PLASTIC CARD is printed from your artwork and posted to you for final approval – click here to see an example.

We also check that artwork is sent to the correct specification and if possible fix it free of charge, failing that we let you know the problems encountered.

Hi All,

A polite request, please do not order items from us if you are never in to receive delivery of them!

Its a common sense request however we have had no end of trouble recently regarding an order of frosted plastic cards.

We dispatch the order on the 12th July and after a lot of attempted deliveries by the courier they are now on there way back to us as the courier can not deliver them.

I will have to spend some time tomorrow contacting the courier to see where they are as really they should have been back with us days ago. I really hope they have not been lost.

I am very worried at the condition the cards will be in, after spending nearly a month passed between courier depot and courier van I am expecting the worse.

Fingers crossed they arrive back with us tomorrow and in a good state.

Strangely this customer knows he is hardly ever at the deliver address he provided, so why order them for delivery there!

I was watching Graham Norton on the TV the other night and a guest was the now named Diddy. I thought it was quite amusing when the comedian Sarah Millican (another guest on the show) was taking the mick by saying he would have to change his business cards every time he changed his name!

Hi All,

I’ve had a rumor that a new director of communications is required for our government, I think I will send in the post a plastic business card to see if I will be invited to send in my CV. Look at all these wonderful blogs I write, surely I must have a chance?!

What qualities do you feel out director of communications should have, erm..well perhaps a few of the following:

An ability to communicate well with all levels of people
Fine qualifications to ensure good education
What is appropriate to communicate and to who e.g imagine someone who did not know when to keep quiet and the Times getting hold of a juicy story which was meant to be kept private
Someone would can keep calm in even the most stressful situation

Ok I think I have ruled me out but I’ve still got some posh plastic business cards if anyone wants to see them?!

Hi All,

I am amazed to read about the new VW XL1, not actually sure if or when it will be available for us public to purchase but get this this car manages to achieve on just one gallon of diesel not 100 not 200 not 300 but 313 miles!

The weight of the car has been decreased by using some kind of carbon fibre, sorry I am not that techi but I’m sure a search on the old internet will provide lots more info! I believe the weight was just under 800kilos.

Apparently it can reach sixty miles per hour in just 11.9 seconds.

I wonder if this car will quality for free road tax like some of the other cars do?
