Chris from Automated Technologies is responsible for a lot of the machinery we have here at CPcards.

Chris emailed his artwork to us for his plastic cards. He ideally wanted some perspex business cards to really stand out from the crowd so he chose our clear business cards as these were the best solution.

Automated Technologies Ltd is a British design and engineering company based in south Manchester, with over 25 years experience of supplying automation solutions using robots, electronics and software solutions. They adapt the most appropriate technology and machine design to help implement increased throughput and consistency with more efficient and lower production costs.

Chris decided on the following 2 colours: White and Bright Green.

We emailed a photo-realistic email proof to Chris for approval and once he had approved it his cards were printed and dispatched in just 7 working days.

Plastic cards for a garden designer

Sally emailed her artwork to us for her plastic cards. She wanted to a card to really stand out from the crowd so she chose our frosted translucent plastic business cards.

Lab Tech Plasma Cutting Specialists Design

Lab Tech Logistics phoned originally to discuss ideas for their business cards. They do plasma cutting and wanted a design to reflect this. I politely explained that whilst we offer a free artwork service its not a graphic design and asked if he would please email a sketch or document over showing us when he would like. He said this was fine but he also wanted a little info on the products we offer, I explained that we offer two main types of printing and asked what he would be using the cards for and some other general info, from his explanation it was concluded that the full colour plastic business cards would be best for him.

A few days later a hand drawn sketch was emailed over. With a note to say that the suggestion of the sketch really helped them to focus on what the wanted. There had been various ideas being passed around his office and a small vote held to decide which to order!

The sketch had considered the layout, colourings, company image/brand and details to go on the cards. For the first order it was decided that a generic cards with no contact name would be the best option, this way they could try them out before ordering them for all the staff. Also this way, if anything wasn't quite right e.g. contact details too small, this could be revised. As always a realistic proof was emailed to them to approve.

Keira Garret Plastic Card

Keira Garret provided artwork to us. Speed was very important to this her. She was flying to Jersey in a weeks time and desperately needed her plastic business cards for a very important meeting.

I wont bore you will all the details but to summarise we met Keira's expectations, we actually exceeded them.

Her designer for the cards had taken a long time implementing changes which meant the production time for the cards was not as long as she had hopped. We also actually ended up altering the artwork as her designer had not followed the correct specifications, not a problem as we often find this and usually we can alter the artwork so that it is the correct specifications to print from. Common things we find designers do is leave crop marks on and not include a bleed area. Some times bleed is easy to add other times not so easy! Occasionally we do have to ask for it to be re-supplied but where possible we try to help out. We emailed a realistic proof to Keira for approval but because she needed the cards quickly Keira declined the actual plastic card proof.

Keira made it to her meeting in Jersey (with her new plastic business cards) and sent us an email to say how well it went and she feels her new plastic cards gave a great impression.

Lapis Optical Plastic Card

Graham from Lapis Optical came to us with their own artwork that their designer had created for them for plastic business cards and asked for a quote for 500 cards.

We email our quote to Graham within a few minutes and a short while later Graham had placed his order with us. We then created his realistic proof which we emailed to Graham to approve.

Graham then decided to send new artwork with the contact details slightly larger. Shortly after we had received Graham's new artwork we emailed a 2nd proof to Graham for him to approve.

As soon he had received his 2nd email proof he approved it and we then proceeded to print an actual plastic card which we posted to him for final approval.

Graham approved his postal proof the same day that he received it and we then started to produce his whole order which we dispatched 6 working days later.

Sven Link Plastic Card

Link Design came to us complete with their own artwork for plastic business cards and asked for a quote for 1,000 cards.

We email our quote to them and a short while later they placed their order. We then created their realistic proof which we emailed to them for approval.

They actually spotted that that had made a typing error with one of their phone numbers so they had to email new artwork to us. Once we had received their new amended artwork, we then proceeded to email a new proof to them for approval.

As soon as they received their 2nd email proof they approved it and we then proceeded to print an actual plastic card which we posted to them for final approval.

They approved the postal proof the same day that they received it and we then started to produce their whole order which we dispatched 6 working days later.

Spectacular Plastic Card

Spectacular came to us asking if they could supply artwork for plastic business cards that their own designer had created. We sent our artwork guidance to them so they could ensure that their artwork was supplied to the correct specification.

A short while later they placed their order and sent their artwork files to us. Our studio then created their realistic proof which we emailed to them for approval.

An hour later then approved the email proof and we then proceeded to print an actual plastic card which we posted to them for final approval.

They approved the postal proof as soon as they received it and we then proceeded to print their whole order which we dispatched just 6 working days later.

Markus Bristow Graphic Design Plastic Card

Markus Bristow is a freelance designer who created this windows 7 inspired plastic business card design..
These cards are certainly very vibrant and colourful and the windows 7 theme also reinforces the computer orientated design work that Markus performs.
It is printed with 3 colours in total, as it is also printed with black ink and holoprint.

Markus didn't need our free artwork service but we did need to make slight adjustments to his artwork files so they were suitable to be printed from.

Once we had tweaked his files, we then emailed a realistic proof for approval.

Hairdrome Plastic Card

Alice from Hair Drome ordered our metallic plastic cards.
These cards certainly stand out with the dazzling metallic gold foil printed onto a metallic gold plastic card.
It is printed with 3 colours in total, as it is also printed with black ink and holoprint.

Alice took advantage of our free artwork service and sent us a hand drawn sketch showing the layout she required. Alice took a photo of the sketch with her smart phone and emailed it to us.

We quickly created the artwork for her card and emailed a realistic proof for approval.

Phil Andrews Plastic Card

Phil Andrews ordered our translucent plastic cards.
This is a very clean looking example printed with 3 colours, black, red and green.

Lambert Solicitors Plastic Card

Lambert and Sons Solicitors wanted a high quality, durable plastic card to hand out to all their clients at the start of each year as it has a calendar on the back of the card.

They ordered 5,000 full colour plastic cards at 760 microns thick with a matt finish. We emailed a realistic looking proof to them for approval and then once approved we proceeded to print an actual plastic card which we then posted to them for final approval.

Graham at Lambert and Son Solicitors approved the proof that we posted to them the same day they he received it and then just 6 working days later we had the whole order printed and dispatched to them.

Jared Fennel Plastic Card

I answered the phone this morning to a very frantic sounding gentleman. He was upset as he had been let down by a local printing company and desperately needed plastic cards for a wedding show that he had a stall at (a new venture of him, so very important to have everything just right). The other printing company had promised delivery last week but failed to deliver and were now telling his it would be at least another two weeks, which would be too late for the show.

It turns out that he needed the cards in 7 working days time which gave us plenty of time. He had his own design ready and emailed it straight over.

I've never seen a design quiet like it, very unusual and eye catching.

Jaredfennel proceeded to order 1000 cards. He loved our photo realistic email proofs and approved this straight away.

We dispatched the cards a day early than promised and we had a very pleased customer. We hope the cards help at the wedding show and wish you luck in your new venture.

Jaredfennel is planning to order cards for his wife's business in the near future however these aren't are urgent as his.

Jackson Wholesale Plastic Card

Jackson Wholesale are planning ahead for 2015! Best to plan ahead than leave it to the last minute.

They are having a huge sale in January by offering a genuine 15% off everything. Quiet unusual are a lot of sales are only off certain items and apparently you can use the card as many times as you like.

The company secretary emailed us a hand drawn sketch of there idea and we provided an email proof for them. They were a couple of small changes to the font sizes and it was approved for the postal proof production.

Originally they were going to order the online offer for 250 plastic business cards but when they realised the price for 500 was the same cost per card and had a postal proof they decide to air on the side of caution and go for this option as after all the postal proof does provide wonderful peace of mind.

When the postal proof arrive with the customer, it was passed around the Jackson head quarters, everyone loved it so no changes were required and the postal proof approved.

The full order was printed and dispatched in 6 working days. As a nice surprise for us the company secretary was so happy that she is going to suggest to management that all staff at management level have plastic business cards as they give such a professional image when they are handed out to customers and never get dog eared / tatty like there current card ones.

Simon Eastman Tourist Guide Plastic Card

Design of the week is printed on frosted translucent plastic for Simon Eastman, who is a tourist guide from Manchester. It is printed with three colours, metallic silver, white and black ink. The black ink is used a part of his logo and also a silhouette of a city scape which runs the full width of the design.

aregeebee Plastic Card

Design of the week is a full colour plastic business card for arebeegee, who is a web designer from Worcester. Their card design is very basic being 3 QR codes, one for their phone number, one for web site and one for Jason's email address. This simple concept is very function and eye-catching. QR codes are becoming so popular that we find most of our plastic card orders have them within the design.

Jacklam Web Designer Plastic Card

Design of the week is a full colour plastic business card for Jack Lam, who is a web designer from Newcastle. His card is very eye-catching with it's great use of a speech bubble and lots of white space around it. The back of the cards were left blank white to further simplify the design.

Simply Audio Plastic Card

Design of the week is a frosted plastic card for Stuart Hartley from Simply Audio, who is the director of a high end, bespoke audio installation company in Wigan, Lancashire. They had a design already that was printed on normal card based business cards and they were looking for something special. They decided to order frosted plastic cards printed with holoprint, black, white and clear foil on the back. The holoprint looks fantastic for the spectrum analyser style graphic at the top of the card and is really eye catching.

They also decided to haver the small logos for mobile, telephone, email and web in two colours to make them stand out more. The effect works really well

Design of the week is a full colour plastic card for Lisa Matthews, who is a head gardener at one of the leading Gardening companies in the south of England. They had a simple design which only required 2 colours (green and black) which we could of hot foil printed but we recommended full colour printing as the print is inside the plastic rather than on the surface so they would be more durable for them which is important as they will be around dirt and the elements a lot. They chose a gloss finish which made the cards brighter looking. They placed their order and emailed their artwork to us after following our artwork guides and our studio then emailed a realistic proof to them for approval.

They approved this proof and a few working days later they had an actual plastic card posted to them for final approval. They approved this on Friday and we are hoping to dispatch their order to them this Friday.

Arc Design Plastic Card

Design of the week is a full colour plastic card for Arcdesign, a graphic design studio from Chelsea. They contacted us with their design to see if it was possible and we recommended our full colour plastic cards with a matt finish to add a look of sophistication to the design. Once they had placed their order we checked their artwork free of charge for technical issues (and found none) then proceeded to email a realistic proof to them for approval.

They approved the email proof right away and decided not to have a postal proof, we are aiming to dispatch their cards to them in 6 working days.

Waterways Bespoke Bathroom Design Plastic Card

Design of the week is a frosted plastic card for Waterways who specialises in designing and installing high end bespoke bathrooms and wet rooms. Paul Brown contacted us with his logo and selected an example from our website that he liked to base his design on. Within 30 minutes of him placing his order we had email a realistic proof to him to approve.

Paul decided to have two colours printed on his cards, metallic dark blue and white ink. The white ink looks lovely when printed on a frosted card and is very easy to read against the translucent background

Markus Moorland Plastic Card

Design of the week is a full colour plastic card for Markus Moorland who is a graphic designer from Middlesborough. Markus specialises in graphic design for websites but also does design for printed products such as business cards. He designed this card himself which made our job a bit easier, all we had to do was print it. The design is printed using a full colour printing process (cmyk) but to look at it is really 3 colours, green, black and grey.

The card is printed with 2 ink colours, white and holoprint and has a cut out effect for the logo of the d with the centre of the d being printed with holoprint.

DBI Design & Manufacturing Plastic Card

Design of the week is a frosted plastic card for DBI who has a small design and manufacturing factory in Northampton. A lot of their work is to design and manufacture prototypes or low volume bespoke manufacture using 3d printing technology - a lot of which uses plastic as the substrate, hence why they chose a plastic card to promote their business.

The card is printed with 2 ink colours, white and holoprint and has a cut out effect for the logo of the d with the centre of the d being printed with holoprint.

Josh B DJ Plastic Card

Design of the week is a frosted plastic card for Josh B who is a well established DJ in Colchester.

The design is printed with 3 ink colours, white, black and medium red and has a funky look to the design. Josh has ordered plastic cards from us for many years of the same design but has experimented over the years by using different ink colours each time he orders.

Richard Tomlinson Farmer Plastic Card

Design of the week is a budget white plastic business card for Richard Tomlinson, an arable farmer from Whitchurch Shropshire.

The design has an obvious farmer feel to it with the bright green tractor logo which combined with a friendly swirly font for the name Burleydam gives a local farmer feel rather than a faceless corporate feel.

George Tatson Plastic Card

Design of the week is a full colour plastic business card for George Tatson, an Aerospace Engineer from Doncaster.

The design has a very scientific feel to it with minimal details to give a clean look. The logo and details are printed in a nice dark soothing green colour against a pastel green background image of diagonal lines.

Style & Substance Plastic Card

Design of the week is a full colour plastic business card for Style & substance, a styling company from Middlesex.

The design is rather uncluttered and stylish. The and symbol nicely integrates with the S of 'style' to create an interesting look. Combined with the non linear curve and the clean crisp font a design that is very pleasing to the eye is achieved.

JC Interiors & Decorating Plastic Card

Design of the week is a full colour plastic business card for JC Interiors, a decorating company from Cardiff, Wales.

The majority of the card is covered in a magenta wallpaper styled pattern which straight away makes you think of a decorator without reading the details.

The contact details printed on the card are minimal with just a web address and a mobile phone number, which is exactly what is needed. Remember, too much wording on a design can make it look cluttered and can ruin what would be a terrific design.

Mike Smithson Plastic Card

Design of the week is a full colour plastic business card for Mike Smithson from Maidstone, Kent.

It has a very dark and bold theme using the dark grey which is almost black. The grey is a cmyk grey to give a smooth appearance and in addition to this and in stark contrast a bright blue is used to give a light hearted feel to the dominating dark grey aspects of the design. The design conveys all the necessary information and is very clear looking and easy on the eye. It is quite a good business card design example as remember, they are business cards not leaflets!

Mike Granderson Audio Technician Plastic Card

Design of the week is a full colour plastic card for Mike Granderson from Nantwich, Cheshire.

It is printed in full colour with a lovely spectrum analyser style graphic in the background and minimal contact details to aid an uncluttered design. This design makes good use of the full colour cmyk printing with the different colours within the patterns.

Dean Shorter Tree Surgeon Plastic Card

Design of the week is a tinted green translucent frosted plastic card for Dean Shorter a tree surgeon from Glasgow.

It is printed with 3 ink colours in total, metallic silver and light green on the front of the card and then printed on the back of the card in clear foil are the small leaves to create a lovely subtle watermark effect.

Gary Jones Graphic Designer Plastic Card

This weeks frosted clear plastic card design of the week is for Gary Jones a graphic designer from the Isle of Man.

It is printed with 3 colours, black, blue and grey ink. It also nicely incorporates a QR code within the design. QR codes are becoming very popular these days but they often make the design look ugly ... but not on this card!

John Osbourne Plastic Card

This weeks satin black plastic card design of the week is for John Osbourne.

It is printed with 3 colours, bright green, white and black ink. It is very unusual as the phone number is in the black ink so is very subtle against the satin black background.

This weeks plastic card design of the week is for Action zone gorilla fighter. It's quite a colourful card utilising the potent ion of our cmyk printing process without going over the top. On the back of the card is a signature strip and QR code.

Auto Engineering Plastic Card

A lovely looking metallic silver plastic business card printed with Metallic Silver, Medium Grey and Black ink for a company called Auto Engineering.

Brian Clayton Solicitors Plastic Card

Design of the week is for a solicitors firm. Brian, from the solicitors, wanted a translucent business card as he just loved the look of them. His company colours have been used for the inks which are red and black. The design is very similar to a previous design of the week, which is where Brian saw and loved the concept. We adapted the previous design slightly to incorporate his requirements and he is thrilled with the results.
