Satin Black Plastic Cards are made from a durable black plastic with a high quality satin finish (non glossy).As they have 100% opaque, to fully utilise the space, printing can be done on both sides to convey more information.

We have lots of lovely metallic colours. The most popular metallic colour is metallic silver, followed closely by metallic gold.
We also have a very unusual foil, holoprint which refracts the light to create a rainbow effect of colour. When viewed normally it looks like metallic silver but as it is angled in the light all the colours of the rainbow can be seen, similar to how a CD looks as it is angled in the light.

We can apply a gloss black ink on the cards to create a subtle watermark type effect.
The effect is quite subtle and becomes more visible when held in the light at the correct angle. The parts of the satin black plastic that are printed with the glossy black ink look glossy and have a different feel and texture to the rest of the card.
Our satin black plastic cards are the same size and thickness as a credit or debit card (86 x 54mm and 760 microns thick) with a high quality satin finish (non glossy).
They have rounded corners and are 100% opaque allowing information to be printed on both sides of the card.

Each colour is applied to the card using a very specilised process which uses upto 8 tons of force and temperatures over 200°C.
Typically we print upto 4 ink colours onto each side of the satin black plastic cards. Each colour is individually printed in separate printing passes with incredible precision.

Our satin black plastic cards are also referred to as: black plastic cards, black business cards, matt plastic cards and matt business cards.
Our satin black plastic cards can be printed with up to four ink colours per side. We also offer, at no extra cost, metallic gold or silver plastic cards plus a wide range of coloured plastic. Our satin black plastic cards are solid plastic cards and are credit card size and thickness (760 microns) with rounded corners.
If your design has many colours, then it may be more cost effective to use our full colour plastic cards with a matt finish. As they are printed in full colour on each side, we can print a black background and apply a matt finish to the cards so they look very similar to our satin black plastic cards.

Sometimes people ask if we also do cards with a matt finish. The best answer is the cards do have a matt finish but they are called satin black (we think it sounds better than matt black) however, rest assured that matt black or satin black are the same thing.
