Volunteer ID Cards
Volunteers are asked who they are all day, by the public, by staff on a ward, by a steward at a gate. An ID card with their name, their role and your logo answers the question before it is asked.
CP Cards prints volunteer ID cards for charities, hospices, NHS volunteer services, festivals and community groups. Manufactured in England since 1992.
Printed names and roles, sealed-on photos
Send a spreadsheet of volunteers and each card is printed with a name and a role: driver, shop volunteer, befriender, steward. Photos can be added with photoseals, which seal a passport-sized photo to the card.
For a lower cost version, print cards with your branding and a write-on panel for the volunteer’s name, which takes an ordinary pen.
Volunteers join all year
Few volunteer programmes recruit in one batch. With our bureau personalisation service, we print your cards in advance and hold them. You email names as volunteers finish their induction, and we personalise and post just those cards, however few. Files received before 1pm are usually dispatched the same day; please allow 3 working days.
Lanyards and clips
Cards are punched with a 15 x 3mm slot for a clip or lanyard, or a 5mm hole. We also sell lanyards, so the whole kit can come in one order.

What a volunteer card should say
A volunteer ID card is not a DBS certificate and should not look like one. Keep it to what a member of the public or a member of staff needs to know: who the person is, which organisation they represent, what they are there to do, and a phone number to check.
Put an expiry or review date on every card. Cards held by people who have stopped volunteering then run out on their own, with no one having to ask for them back.
Why plastic
A card worn every Saturday for three years has to look as credible in the third year as it did in the first. Laminated paper frays and fades on a lanyard. A printed PVC card has its print sealed under the surface and keeps its colour.

Printed for charities and community groups
Volunteer cards are printed alongside the membership cards and event passes we produce for charities, clubs and event organisers across the UK. You approve a free photorealistic proof before anything is printed, and our design team can set up the card from your logo.
Volunteer ID Card FAQs
Can each volunteer card show a name and role?
Yes. Send a spreadsheet of names and roles and each card is printed with its own details.
Can we add volunteer photos?
Yes. Photoseals fix a passport-sized photo to the card. We can attach them for you if you send the photos.
Can we order cards one at a time as volunteers join?
Yes. Our bureau personalisation service holds printed cards in stock and personalises them as you send new names, with no minimum call-off.
Do the cards come with lanyards?
Lanyards are sold separately. Cards can be punched with a slot or hole to fit them.
