How to Use These Examples
Everything on this page is a card we have actually printed, not a template library. That matters because it changes how you should use them: you are not picking a design you then have to fit your club into, you are picking a starting point.
In practice most orders begin with somebody saying “we like the layout of that one, but in our colours, with our badge, and can the number go on the front”. That is a normal request and it is covered by our design service at £29 +vat — we redraw it around your club rather than dropping your logo into a fixed slot.
Nor do you have to stay within your own sport. The layout that works for a bowls club may be exactly what a sailing club wants, and plenty of the best cards we print started life as a design from a completely different section of this page. Browse the lot.
What Changes Between Club Types, and What Doesn't
The card itself does not change at all. Every membership card on this page is 760-micron solid PVC at 86 x 54mm, printed full colour CMYK on both sides at no extra cost, with the design sealed beneath the surface and a choice of gloss or matt. A golf club card and a boxing club card are physically the same object.
What changes is the wording and which extras get used. A shooting club leans on sequential numbering because the card is checked against a register at every visit. A cycling club gives the whole reverse to an emergency contact. A gym needs a barcode that its turnstile can read. A social club changes the card colour every year so a door steward can spot an expired one without reading it.
So if your club type is not listed, nothing is missing — the product is identical and only the copy on the card differs. Tell us what your card has to do and we will work out the rest.
Working Out What to Order
Four questions settle most membership card specifications, and it is worth answering them before you look at designs.
Does a machine need to read it? If the card opens a door, releases a court or applies member pricing at a bar, it needs a barcode, a magnetic stripe or an RFID chip — and the format has to match the system you already run, so ask your provider before ordering.
Does anything on it change during the year? Handicaps, classifications, squad, accreditation renewals. If so, a signature or write-on strip lets a club officer pen in an update rather than the club reprinting.
Does every card need different details? Names, membership numbers, individual emergency contacts. If so, send an Excel file and we print each card with its own, in one production run at no extra artwork charge.
Do people join year-round? If members trickle in rather than all renewing in September, our bureau personalisation service holds your printed stock here and posts personalised cards within about three working days whenever you email a list.

Can you copy one of these designs for our club?
We use it as a starting point rather than copying it. Our design service redraws the layout around your club's name, badge and colours for £29 +vat, so you get the structure you liked, not somebody else's card.
Our club type isn't listed. Does that matter?
Not at all. Every membership card here is physically identical — 760-micron PVC, 86 x 54mm, full colour both sides. Only the wording differs, so tell us what your card needs to do.
Can we use a design from a different sport?
Yes, and it is common. A layout that works for one club often suits another entirely different one. There is no reason to browse only your own section.
How do we know whether we need a barcode, magstripe or RFID?
It depends on the system you already run — the card has to match your existing readers. Ask whoever supplied your access control, booking or till system for the format they expect.
What if information on the card changes mid-year?
Add a signature or write-on strip. It takes an ordinary pen, so a club officer can update a handicap, classification or renewal date without the club reprinting cards.
Can every card carry a different member's name?
Yes. Supply an Excel file with only the details to be printed and each card comes out of a single production run with its own name, number and expiry date, at no extra artwork charge.
What if members join throughout the year?
Our bureau personalisation service is designed for exactly that. We hold your printed stock and personalise and post cards whenever you email a list, normally within three working days.
