Cricket clubs run more membership tiers than almost anyone, and the card order usually happens in the same fortnight as pre-season nets, fixture cards and chasing last year’s subs.

What Cricket Clubs Put on a Membership Card
Cricket clubs run more membership tiers than almost any other sport. A single club can have senior playing members across three or four XIs, a colts section, social members, ground members, vice-presidents and life members, and all of them need telling apart without a committee member having to check a list.
So the front carries the club name and crest, the member’s name, a membership number and — prominently — the tier, along with the season. The reverse is where clubs put ground address, nets nights, bar opening hours and the terms of any member pricing, plus the subs position if the club wants it visible.
Vice-presidents deserve a mention of their own. A great many village and league clubs run on VP subscriptions, and giving that tier a card that looks a little different is a small courtesy that gets noticed at exactly the point in the year when you are asking people to renew.
Built for a Season in a Cricket Bag
A cricket bag is a damp place from April to September. Whites that went in wet, boots with grass still on them, a bag left in the boot of a car between a Saturday league game and a Sunday friendly. Add the rain that stops play and you have an environment printed paper simply does not survive.
Our cricket club membership cards are 760-micron solid PVC, the same thickness as a bank card, with the design sealed beneath the surface rather than printed on top. Damp does nothing to them, and studs or a spare bail sharing the same pocket will not scratch the print away.

Extras That Suit Cricket Clubs
Sequential numbering is the usual starting point. Numbering the cards as they are issued keeps them aligned with the membership register, and clubs with a bar find it useful for tying member pricing to a named person. Specify a start number and we run on from it, or send an Excel file with the exact numbers you want.
For the bar itself, a barcode is worth considering — Code39, Code128 or EAN5, whichever your till system expects. It turns member pricing from something bar volunteers have to remember into something the till applies automatically.
Vice-president and life member cards are where metallic foiling comes into its own. Foil is applied under heat and pressure so one element — usually the club crest, sometimes just the word on the tier line — stands proud of everything around it. It works best with simple line art, because foil lays down as flat solid colour and will not reproduce gradients or photographs, but a crest in metallic gold on an otherwise standard card is a genuinely distinctive thing to hand someone.

Crests need vector or 300dpi. A scan from a fixture card is

The membership secretary or treasurer, usually in February, alongside the fixture
card.
Send the crest, the tier list and rough numbers, approve the proof we email, and
the cards arrive before the first game. We hold the artwork afterwards, so next
