Translucent (sometimes called frosted) cards are a popular premium finish for membership and loyalty cards where a brand wants a distinctive look on the shelf or in a wallet, rather than the plain opaque white of a standard card. Metallic foil or white ink prints particularly well against the frosted background, which is why these are often chosen for higher-tier membership cards or limited-edition designs.
