Reusable Visitor Passes

Sticky paper visitor badges cost money every day and leave no record at the end of it. A numbered plastic pass, logged against a name at reception and handed back at the door, gives you a list of who is on site and costs nothing after the first order.

CP Cards prints visitor passes for offices, schools, factories, warehouses and construction sites. Manufactured in England since 1992.

Colour coding at a glance

Most sites need more than one kind of pass. A typical set looks like this:

  • Visitor, must be escorted
  • Visitor, unescorted
  • Contractor
  • Delivery driver
  • Temporary staff

A bold colour band across the top of each pass can be read from across a room. Staff should be able to tell who needs an escort without reading the small print.

Numbered for your signing-in book

Each pass carries its own number, which goes in the visitor log next to the name and the time in. At the end of the day, any number still out is a pass still on site, or in someone’s car on the way home. If you use a digital sign-in system, the number can also be printed as a barcode or QR code.

Clips, lanyards and the reverse side

We punch a 15 x 3mm slot for a badge clip or a 5mm hole for a lanyard hook. We also sell lanyards, so passes and lanyards can arrive in one order.

Passes are printed in full colour on both sides, and the reverse is the place for the fire assembly point, the main site rules and the reception phone number.

Visitor passes and fire safety

In England and Wales, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person for a workplace to plan for an emergency, and an evacuation plan has to cover everyone on the premises, visitors included. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own equivalent rules. The government’s fire safety guidance sets out who the responsible person is.

A numbered pass system gives a fire marshal something concrete to check at the assembly point: the visitor log shows which numbers are out, and every numbered pass should be standing in front of them.

Reusable passes against sticky badges

Sticky badges are single use, and at a busy reception they are a daily cost. They also peel off coats and turn up on the car park floor with your company name on them. A plastic pass is handed back at sign-out, wiped over and reissued, and a set of fifty can serve a reception desk for years.

Printed for reception desks across the UK

Visitor passes sit alongside the event passes and certification cards we print for businesses, schools and training providers. You approve a free photorealistic proof by email before we print, and our design team can set up a colour-coded set from your logo if you need a hand.

Visitor Pass FAQs

Can visitor passes be different colours for visitors and contractors?

Yes. Each pass type can have its own colour and wording, all in the same order.

Are the passes numbered?

Yes. We print a unique sequential number on every pass so it can be logged in your visitor book or sign-in system.

Can the passes take a clip or a lanyard?

Yes. We punch a 15 x 3mm slot for a badge clip or a 5mm hole for a lanyard. We also sell lanyards.

Can we add the fire assembly point to the pass?

Yes. Passes are printed in full colour on both sides, so the reverse can carry the assembly point, site rules and the reception phone number.
